Web 2.0 refers to a method of creating and sharing information on the internet. It is interactive and user-centered, with a focus on building a sense of community when users contribute content. Web 2.0 is not about any type of technology; it’s about people interacting with a website rather than just viewing information presented to them. It is user generated content.

John Reese, one of the early pioneers of internet marketing, is famous for defining “VRE”, — virtual real estate. He advises that the way to control more of the internet is to own more of the internet by creating more virtual real estate (web pages and websites) on the internet.
